Pro Clima Australian Study Launch in Sydney

Awesome to attend the Pro Clima Australian Study Launch in Sydney last night presented by Jesse Clarke, Daniel Jakobs, the gurus behind Pro Clima Australia, with Linden Thorley as special guest.

Even better is the enthusiasm by builders who are paving the way forward towards high quality, high performance, comfortable and healthy (mould free) construction methods.

We are all learning from each other and the building science and practical installation tips shared are invaluable.

Demolition is well underway on site, which our clients are very happy about!

The original living room had been disconnected from the small rear yard by the bathroom, laundry and a rear study area. Now that the 1978 extension has been removed, you can appreciate the mature neighbouring trees in the viewline along with a greater sense of space.

27 countries, 17 addresses, 5 continents (lived in 3), 2 beautiful children (inside and out), 1 small family business named after a black and white bear and 1 incredible soul mate!
We've covered some miles (some on 2 wheels, most with wings), had plenty of adventures, made amazing friends, worked with talents, inspirations, legends and diamonds, studied, lived, worked, travelled and got lost together (many many times). The future is exciting, so much more to come for Plan and Action!

This original single storey cottage is being dramatically transformed and opened up to the views and glimpses of the 5m high sandstone cliffs to the side and rear. Having been conceived in pre-covid times, the design evolved to respond to post-covid building industry hurdles. The latest of which happened two months into the build due to the 6 week wait for the value-engineered roof trusses. By quickly deciding to change to a site built roof that was framed within a few days, the owners were able to incorporate the dramatic cathedral roof and gable end triangular windows that had been originally envisaged, making the absolute most of an opportunity for the rear living/dining/kitchen to feel bigger again than the sum of its parts with the expansive sky views.

Happy to share that I’ve obtained a new certification: NatHERS Software Tool Training Certification from Hero Software Pty Ltd.

It was fantastic to be able to attend the award ceremony on Saturday and hear about the background and history of the award itself. Great to see the other finalist entries, some absolutely stunning projects. We were just hoping there would be one more category specifically featuring long single-storey period houses on tricky narrow sites in the inner west!

The scaffolding has finally been removed, now we can see the great attention to detail by Direct Building Solutions Pty Ltd.

What a difference a couple of weeks makes - starting to look like a house.
