We've covered some miles (some on 2 wheels, most with wings), had plenty of adventures, made amazing friends, worked with talents, inspirations, legends and diamonds, studied, lived, worked, travelled and got lost together (many many times). The future is exciting, so much more to come for Plan and Action!

Having been conceived in pre-covid times, the design evolved to respond to post-covid building industry hurdles. The latest of which happened two months into the build due to the 6 week wait for the value-engineered roof trusses. By quickly deciding to change to a site built roof that was framed within a few days, the owners were able to incorporate the dramatic cathedral roof and gable end triangular windows that had been originally envisaged, making the absolute most of an opportunity for the rear living/dining/kitchen to feel bigger again than the sum of its parts with the expansive sky views.

It was fantastic to be able to attend the award ceremony on Saturday and hear about the background and history of the award itself. Great to see the other finalist entries, some absolutely stunning projects. We were just hoping there would be one more category specifically featuring long single-storey period houses on tricky narrow sites in the inner west!

Way back when we started the renovation journey we didn't think about using an architect, but once Amanda came on board it really began to grow, especially with the skylight design which immediately stood out as a very exciting idea.
I was the owner builder, so I went though the whole "grand design" "experience", but as the project progressed I came more and more to realise what a great idea it is to have an architecturally designed building, and how the fee is such good value in terms of adding functuntionality, beauty and a calm spirit to ones home.
We now live in a such wonderful place, Thank you Amanda.
